Mr. Roy Thorpe, 67, of Woodsboro, MD, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Carol Brown Thorpe.
Born January 28, 1946 in St. Charles, Virginia, he was the son of the late Emmett and Birdie Flannery Thorpe.
Mr. Thorpe served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Frederick. He was Co-owner of Domestic Plumbing and Heating Inc. Roy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and crabbing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son David Thorpe and wife Michelle of Hagerstown, grandchildren Jason Wolfe and Jesse Thorpe, a brother Delbert Thorpe of Poolesville and a sister Sue Jarvis and husband Donnie of Adamstown and several nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by his best friend Ron Wise. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mattie Wilson, Elsie Richelle and Ella Mullis.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday October 16, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Thursday, October 17, at 11:00 am
