Roy Shank
November 2, 1931 — January 19, 2011
Mr. Roy "Sonny" Shank, 79 of Frederick, MD., passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ethel M. "Dolly" Shank.
Born November 2, 1931 in Woodsboro, MD., he was the son of Walter K. and Evelyn M. Collins Shank.
Mr. Shank was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. He retired after many years at Frederick Produce. He was the owner operator of Shank Cleaning Services for over 30 years. Roy was still active in his business after retiring. He enjoyed meeting friends at the White Star Restaurant, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Jeff Shank of Frederick, MD and Brenda DeLauter and husband Doug of Myersville, MD., grandchildren Dusty, Abby, Sophie and Josie DeLauter, and great grandson Holden Ortiz-DeLauter. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bob, Jack and Bill Shank and his sister Eileen Stimmel.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Friday January 21, from 2 -4 and 7 - 9:00 pm, where services will be held Saturday, January 22, at 11:00 am with Rev. Katie Penick officiating.
