Mr. Roy W. Meyer, 88, of Frederick, died on January 2, 2011 at his home. He was the husband of Verna K. Meyer whom he married on January 24, 1948.
Born on April 25, 1922 in Villa Park, Illinois, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Myrtle Wood Meyer.

Combat Cargo were he was a Flight Engineer on a C 46 Commando. He worked for 29 years at Ft.Detrick and Edgewood Arsenal as an Electronics Technician. He was well known locally for his watch and clock repair services. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 11.
The family would like to extend there gratitude to Roy’s caregivers; TJ, Rob Atkinson, Destiny Mootsey and Diane Sullivan for there care during his sickness, and also to Geoff Littrell of Frederick County Hospice.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons; Ronald E. Meyer and wife Donna of Frederick and Robert A. Meyer and wife Deanna of Keymar. Three grandchildren, Michelle Meyer of Frederick and Janelle and Brandon Meyer of Keymar. Sister in Law, Barbara Klipp of Frederick. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert P. Meyer and sister, Lucille Cook.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Thursday January 6, 2011 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 7, in the funeral home chapel. Reverend Tim May will officiate. Entombment will follow services in Mt.OlivetCemetery, Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Charles Gartner, Rob Atkinson, Gordon Palmer, Walter T. Mills, Bob McAfee, and Blair Combs.
