Roy Itnyre

March 20, 1947 — December 20, 2010

Roy E. Itnyre, 63, of Sharpsburg, Maryland passed away on  Monday, December 20,2010 at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.

Born on March 20, 1947 in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia area and resided in the Sharpsburg area his entire life,  he was the son of the late Thurston Elwood Itnyre and Ethel Louise Tucker (Itnyre) Allen.

He was a 1965 graduate of Boonsboro High School where he never missed a day of school.

Roy was formerly employed by London Fog  Manufacturer from 1965 - 1995. From1995 - 2007 he was employed as the head custodian for the Washington County Board of Education until he became disabled.

Roy enjoyed old cars, boating, fishing, and hunting where he got himself a bear in Maine.

He was a member of the American Legion of Williamsport, Redmen of Williamsport, and Falling Waters, West Virginia A.M.V.E.T.S.

Roy is survived by his wife, Shelia of twenty six years; a son, Chuck F. Itnyre and his wife, Tania of Williamsport, Maryland and former daughter-in-law, Lydia; two granddaughters, Amber and Kayla Itnyre and her fiance, Dan Hessong of Williamsport, Maryland; loving brother of Maeetta Mcfee, Darlene Ridenour and her husband, Ronald, all of Hagerstown, Maryland; two brothers, Arthur Myers and his wife, Timmy, formerly from Sharpsburg, Maryland and Guy Allen of Sharpsburg, Maryland; one uncle, George Cole and his wife, Doris; one aunt, Janis Greene and her husband, Guy all of Hagerstown, Maryland.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland, on Thursday, December 23, 2010 from 6 - 8 p.m. where services will be held on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, Maryland.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
