Rosie Forney

Mrs. Rosie Ellen Forney, 76, of Thurmont, MD, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, MD, surrounded by her family. Born November 18, 1936, in Graceham, MD, she was the daughter of the late John and Evelyn Ogle. She was the beloved wife of Carroll Forney, Sr. for 57 years. Rosie graduated from Thurmont High School. She worked as a waitress at Cozy Restaurant for many years and as a cafeteria aide at the Thurmont Middle School. She was a member of the Thurmont AMVETS Post 7 Auxiliary and Thurmont American Legion Post 168 Auxiliary. Rosie liked animals, crocheting, dancing, watching movies, and helping neighbors in need. She really loved spending time with her family and always thought of others before herself. She enjoyed life and always liked having a fun time. Rosie was a wonderful person and everyone who knew her loved her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Karen Roszko and husband Carl of Fairfield, PA, Carroll Forney, Jr. and wife Pamela of Clearville, PA, and Bryan Forney and fiancé Jamie Yingling of Thurmont, MD; grandchildren Jesse McElroy, Brittney Sweger, Josh Forney, Christopher Roszko, and Annamarie Roszko; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Evelyn Ogle. The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD, on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM where a service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Sue Koenig will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County or the Frederick County Humane Society.
