Rose Zita Ray

Rose Zita “Rosita” (Gaines) Ray, 92, of Gettysburg, PA and Sharpsburg, MD, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Homewood of Williamsport, MD. She was the wife of the late Dr. John George Ray Jr.
Born on December 19, 1925 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late J. Howard and Mary Ellen Gaines. Rosita received a bachelors of science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Gettysburg College. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg, MD.
Rosita was survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann Ray of Reston, VA; son, John Gaines Ray of Port St. Lucie, FL; sister, Anne G. Miller of Dillsburg, PA; and two grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland, 21713.
A memorial service is planned for a later date with family and friends to celebrate her life.
