Rose Monique Blaise Henry

Rose Monique Blaise Henry, 92, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD.

Born on April 12, 1931, in Bombardopolis, Haiti, Rose was the daughter of the late St. Pierre and Cecilia Blaise. A homemaker, Rose loved tending to her garden and learned how to be a seamstress. After emigrating to the United States in the 1970s, Rose settled in Maryland, where she and her adult children planted their roots to start their lives in the United States. She worked in hospitality until she retired.

Rose was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren and delighted to see her children thrive in their home away from home. Her life was in service to others: to God, her family, and her loved ones. Rose was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Marie Saimbre, Eddy Henry, Evangeline Henry; her grandchildren, Sherlinda Saimbre, Eddy Henry, Jr., Kenny Henry, Carm Saimbre, Nafcahee Saimbre, Joanna Saimbre, Leshawn Kouam Latar, Evangeline Kouam Latar; her great-grandchildren, Isaiah Henry, Kasimeh, Kehanu and Khaldin Adams; her sister, Belonia Blaise; her sister-in-law, Annette Blaise; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leugene Memoire Henry; her son, Normand Henry; her brothers, Gonzague Blaise and Villebonheur Blaise; and her sisters, Anne Joseph Richardson and Elana Mazard.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 12PM at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Walkersville, Maryland.
