Rose Lee Foltz Barger, 79, of Jefferson, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family, in Jefferson, MD. She was the beloved wife of the late Marshall J. "Buz" Barger.
Born on January 11, 1945, in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Perry Eugene and Ida Lee (Eversole) Foltz.
Rose was a 1963 graduate of Brunswick High School. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Burkittsville. Rose enjoyed playing softball, bowling, reading, and loved going to her granddaughter's softball games or any of their sporting events. She loved attending the Foltz family picnics. Her family was her main priority and she loved spending time with them and was fortunate to meet her newest great-grandson, Duston. Rose never missed her yearly birthday lunches with her sisters and enjoyed taking daily walks with her sister Delores.
She is survived by Son, Matthew T. Barger, Daughter, Kimberlie Jo Laing and husband Michael; grandchildren, Morgan Clipp and husband Daniel, Katie Laing, Kelsie Laing; great-grandchildren, Dalton L. Clipp, and Duston L. Clipp; siblings, Shirley Ridgeway and husband Lee, Donna Wenner and husband Tommy, Delores Axline and husband Johnny; brother-in-law Richard Pry, sister-in-law, Carole Foltz, sister-in-law, Geraldine Sigler and brother-in-law Jesse Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Merrell Foltz, Gene Foltz, Pat Pry and sister-in-law, Joanne Thompson and nephews, Jason Axline, Scott Pry, Kenny Foltz and Brian Cooper.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm and 5-8 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick, MD.
A celebration of Rose's life journey will take place at 11 am on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church - Burkittsville, 5 East Main Street in Burkittsville, MD with a receiving of friends 1 hour prior. Pastor Charlie Frekot will officiate. Interment will be at Burkittsville Union Cemetery in Burkittsville, MD.
