Rosalie "Rosie" Stambaugh

May 26, 1953 — May 7, 2017

Mrs. Rosalie Mae "Rosie" Stambaugh, 63, of Rocky Ridge died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Eugene Stambaugh.

Born May 26, 1953 in Frederick, she was the daughter of Rayetta Willard Brown of Sabillasville and the late Martin (Luke) Brown.

She was a partner with her husband, Eugene, in the family business, Stambaugh Electric Service. Rosie was responsible for doing the bookwork and was the friendly voice on the phone for 30 years.

She was a wonderful cook and loved to share her creations with family and friends, especially her cheesecakes, strawberry jam and deviled eggs. Her garden, flowers, animals, family, friends, and helping others were among her main priorities.

Rosie was a member of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ in Rocky Ridge, where she serviced on the Council for many years. She enjoyed working in the park for festivals and the "big picnic". She devoted many hours to booking and maintaining the Sunday School activity building.

She loved spending time at the cabin she built with her husband in the mountains of Garrett County. Additionally, she enjoyed trips to Aruba with special friends, Glenn Jr. and Rebecca Eaves, and Kenneth and Gloria Frushour.

Rosie loved being with her family but times spent as Nana to her granddaughters, Payton and Ashlyn, were most precious to her.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Edward and wife, Kristin, and James; granddaughters, Payton and Ashlyn; two sisters, Judy Eyler and husband, Jim, and Sarah Cunkelton and husband, Steve; special friends, Ed and Donna Gills; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Mt. Tabor UCC, 10043 Longs Mill Road, Rocky Ridge. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11 at the church with visitation from 10 to 11. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Ricketts.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Tabor Sunday School, c/o Franklin Stambaugh, or Mt. Tabor Cemetery, c/o Eugene Stambaugh, 10043 Longs Mill Road, Rocky Ridge, MD 21788.

Arrangements are with Stauffer Funeral Home, Thurmont. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.
