Rosalie Virginia (Smith) Long, 92, of Keedysville, MD passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home. She was the wife of the late John W. Long, Jr.
Born August 18, 1924 in Boonsboro, MD she was the daughter of the late George W. and Nellie B. (Grams) Smith.
Rosalie was a 1942 graduate of Boonsboro High School and a 1945 graduate of the Washington Co. School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from the Washington Co. Hospital in 1986. Rosalie was a member of the Fahrney-Keedy Home Auxiliary, the Clopper-Michael Post American Legion Auxiliary, the Washington Co. Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and a member of the Fahrney-Keedy Chapel Fellowship. She was also a past member of Green Acres Homemakers Association.
Rosalie will forever be loved by those she left behind. She is survived by her daughter Candace L. Hubbs and husband Norman P., III of Mechanicsburg, PA and her son Gregory A. Long and wife Valorie K. of Beavercreek, OH; five grandchildren, Kathryn Ashman (Bill), Norman Hubbs, IV (Mariam), Tyler Long (Julianne Novelli), Lauren V. Long and Rebecca Knoth (Phil); five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her sister Edith L. Hines and two brothers Burman H. Smith and Drexel E. Smith.
The family will receive friends at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 1:30PM-2:30PM where a funeral service will begin at 2:30PM.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville.
