Ronald C. Hazell

Mr. Ronald C. Hazell, 67, of Middletown, MD went to be with the Lord on Friday. March 6, 2009 at Washington County Hospital. He was the loving and devoted husband of Patricia Pat Hazell for 43 years.

Born January 16, 1942 in Capitol Heights, Maryland he was the son of the late Robert Kate and Mary Babe Hazell. He gave 43 years of loyal service to the federal government before retiring to spend more time with his family and friends.

He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church where he previously sang in the choir and served as an usher. He also enjoyed coaching basketball with the Faith Baptist Upward program for children in the community.

He was a long-time member of the Capitol Heights Fire Department and he was the former Post Commander at the American Legion Post 33 in Washington, D.C.

He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling, listening to music, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife, Pat, he is survived by his three adoring children, a daughter, Kimberly Hazell of Middletown, a son, Michael and wife Rachael of Fairplay, MD and a daughter Michelle Ferguson and husband Joe of Middletown, four beloved grandchildren, C.J. Ferguson, Savannah Hazell, Josh Ferguson and Lucas Hazell, one brother, Edward Hazell, one sister, Mary Ellen Padgett and husband Whitey.

He will be fondly remembered by many lifelong friends as well as numerous other friends and family.

He is preceded in death by a precious granddaughter, Ashley Hazell, a brother, William Hazell and wife Wanda and sister-in-law Betty Hazell.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Tuesday, March 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 2212 Jefferson Pike, Knoxville, MD on Wednesday, March 11 at 11:00AM with Pastor Ed Jordan officiating.
Interment will be in Middletown Reformed Cemetery.
