Ronald E. Reese, Sr.

Ronald (Ron) Eugene Reese Senior, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday January 24, 2025 at home surrounded by family, at the age of 83.

Ron was born April 5th,1941 in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, to the late Edna Mae Reese and George Arnold Reese. He was a graduate of Exeter High School, class of 1961, where his love of football began. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era as a reservist, with active duty on the USS Franklin D Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier as an electrician.

He retired in 2001 from IBM and Lockheed Martin after over 25 years as a Senior Security System Analyst. Throughout his life Ron dedicated himself to service to his community. He was passionate about taking youth under his wing, and could usually be found coaching one of his “kids” sports teams (officially or unofficially), serving coffee at a firehouse pancake breakfast, chaperoning field trips, or helping a friend with any project that needed an extra set of hands.

Ron was a die hard fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and a professional armchair referee. Ron was a proud lifetime member of both the Mt. Airy American Legion Post 191 and Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company, and an honorary member of Mt Airy Volunteer Fire Company. Ron touched the life of everyone he met, was never short on a story, and was always eager to offer up advice for all who needed it.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pat Reese, daughter Anna Reese, granddaughter Ashlee Walker and husband Bernard Walker, brother George Reese, half sister Leticia, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Ronnie Junior and sister Evelyn Kubicki.
