Mr. Ronald C. Manning, 96 of Frederick, MD passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Kline Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Nancy Manning who passed away in 2002.
Born July 27, 1915 in Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Russell and Vida Manning.
He was a business owner of a General Store and M&M Electric Motor.
Ronald served in the United States Army during WWII and also the Battle of the Bulge. He received two silver stars.
He was a member of South End Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed watching the Nationals, the Redskins and the Wizards. He also loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by three daughters, Dolores P. Manning, Joyce L. Riddlemoser Manning and Darlene N. Remsburg, five grandchildren, Rhonda Hurt and husband Robert, Michael Remsburg and wife Tina, Jeff Riddlemoser and wife Mary, Steve Riddlemoser and Stacy Specht and husband Donnie, seven great grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jessica, Justin, Tiffany and Kaitlyn, one great great granddaughter, Destiny, four sisters, Leona Gordon, Margaret Gordon, Jeanie Michaels and Evelyn Potter. He will also be remembered by his special friend Eugene Duffy and his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Mae Shank.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 7:00-9:00PM Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 18
th
at 2:00PM at South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrolton Drive, Frederick with Pastor Ken Stalls officiating.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
