Mr. Ronald R. Krom, 69, of Rocky Ridge, MD passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Ministries after a battle with Lou Gherigs Disease. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Krom for 35 years.
Born September 7, 1945 in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of Betty Valentine Krom and the late Guy Krom.
Mr. Krom was a graduate of Emmitsburg High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement he worked as an Electrical Inspector for Frederick County. Ronald was a member of Thurmont Amvets Post 7, Woodsboro American Legion Post 282 and a life member of the Blue Ridge Sportsmans Club. Mr. Krom loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed taking his boat to the bay for fishing and crabbing.
In addition to his wife Barbara and mother Betty he is survived by his daughter Michele Long of Fairfield, PA, three grandchildren, Remington Long of Fairfield PA, Nathan Krom and Susannah Krom, Chestertown, MD. He was also very close with family friends Steve Long, Dennis Valentine and Tom Miller. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Krom, and son Steve Krom.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00p.m. at the Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 10043 Longs Mill Road; Rocky Ridge with Pastor Jim Russell officiating. There will be no viewing. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22 at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
