Mr. Ronald L. Harrison, 72, of Frederick died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Glade Valley Nursing Center. He was the loving husband of 39 years to Shirley E. Harrison.
Born June 23, 1941 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Cleve Leroy and Lois C. Stroup Harrison.
Mr. Harrison was an equipment operator for 38 years with the State Highway Administration. He enjoyed sports and was on a bowling team for many years. Most importantly, he had many fond memories of hunting and fishing with his son, Brian, and their friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Brian Harrison and wife, Jennifer, of Frederick; step-daughter, Vickie Valentine and husband, Frankie, of Thurmont; two grandsons, Shawn Harrison and Kyle Harrison, both of Frederick; two granddaughters, Lacee Valentine and Emilee Valentine, both of Thurmont; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia Brunner.
Shirley wishes to extend special thanks to their daughter-in-law, Jennifer, for the loving care given to Ronald during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Pastor James Jones from International Community Church of God.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
