Mr. Romer H. Travis, 81, of Hagerstown died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Hagerstown Healthcare Center.
Born August 4, 1936 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Arthur Romer Travis and Anna Lois (Ennis) Travis.
Romer was a farmer in Frederick County for most of his life. He enjoyed watching football, especially Dallas Cowboys, bowling, fishing, listening to country music, and he loved watching Western movies. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda F. Travis; Patricia A. Moore, and husband, David; and Brenda K. Travis; all of Hagerstown; one son, Donald H. Travis, of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Gerald L. Travis, Sr., of Colonial Beach, VA, and James L. Travis and wife, Brenda, of Williamsport; a sister, Helen L. Colburn of Frederick; three grandchildren, Jennifer L. Collins, and husband, Tim, of Michigan; Heather N. Jenkins of Waynesboro, PA; and Joseph F. Jenkins of Waynesboro; two step-grandchildren, Robert Moore and Elizabeth Harris, of Frederick; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Romer was predeceased by three brothers, Cecil, Frank and Richard Travis; one sister, Lois Hackley; and his second wife, Gloria L. Travis.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Locust Valley Bible Church Cemetery in Middletown.
