Roland Adams

M.r. Roland Douglas Adams (Doug), 62, of Keedysville, Md., died peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 21, 2015.

Born in Frederick on September 7, 1953, he was the son of the late Roland A. Adams and Winifred (Jo) Wilhide Adams now residing in New Oxford, Pa.

Doug was a 1971 graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School and decided to enlist in the U.S. Navy after he finished school. This gave him the opportunity to pursue studies and travel which allowed him to see many places in the U.S. and abroad. While in the service, Doug received numerous prestigious and honorable awards for his accomplishments.

Doug was a man of integrity and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He had an unique sense of humor, the ability to converse about anything to anybody, and a zest for life! His hobbies were many, and he was an avid Civil War enthusiast. He also enjoyed collecting coins and researching his family ancestry. Most of all, however, Doug was a family man, and enjoyed spending time with his!

Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Migdalia, his step-son, Marcos (Stacy) and their son, Jackson. Also, he is survived by his step-daughter, Cristina (Tim) and their daughter. Maria.

Surviving from his immediate family are Carol Gladhill (Donald) of Thurmont, Sherry Shriner (Dave) of Fairfield, Pa.,   Jo Ellen Gluscevich (Lincoln) of Frederick. The following nieces and nephew: Christa Whelan, Kimberly Roberts, Brent Stull, Tracie Miller, Cheryl Phelan, and Julie Gluscevich. Doug was predeceased by a nephew, Justin Gluscevich, in 2011.

Visitation for Doug will be held on Tuesday, November 24, from 6:00 -- 8:00 at the Bast--Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro, Md. Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 25 at the Fairfield Cemetary in Keedysville, Md. If you wish to attend, please gather at the cemetery at that time.
