Roger Ridenour

Mr. Roger L. Ridenour, 64 of Cascade, MD passed away peacefully at his residence on March 28th, 2014. He was born September 3rd, 1949. He was the husband of Patricia (Misner) Ridenour for 45 years. He was the last of his immediate family. Mr. Ridenour was preceded in death by parents Catherine Ridenour and Nelson Staub, siblings: Clarence, Charles and Marcus Ridenour, Grace Hankey and James Staub. Also his in-laws John and Olive Misner.
Roger along with his wife Pat was the owner and operator of Thurmont Kountry Kitchen in Thurmont, MD for over 30 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Tracy Boyd and husband Bruce, Andrea Shafer, and Sherry Myers and husband Rob, as well as his grandchildren Bruce Jr. and Amanda, Beth and husband David Ohler, Greg and Mandy Shafer, Paris Perez, Bobby, Nick, and Jayden Myers, 4 great grandchildren: Madison and Jordyn Ohler, and Kendall and Kellan Boyd, and sister in law Bev Shriner, and many nieces and nephews, and his unofficially adopted son John Cramer.
Roger loved old Rock and Roll music, bowling, and he especially loved his little pugs Candi and Scrunchy. He loved cooking at the restaurant and the many faithful employees over the years. He will also be remembered by special friends Teresa and Ben Ogle, Pam Droneburg and Ed Whipp, John and Karen Kinnaird, and Dale and Vicki Sharer.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday March 31 and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday April 1 at Stauffer’s Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont MD, Pastor Brian Messler officiating. Interment will be private.
