Rodney Delosier

April 19, 1947 — August 8, 2016

Rodney Wallace Delosier, 69, of Boonsboro, passed away on Monday, August 8th, 2016, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Hagerstown, Maryland to Wallace and Virginia Delosier on April 19th, 1947.

Rodney graduated from South Hagerstown High School and joined the United States Navy, June 1965. He served one tour in Vietnam, as a SEABEE, heavy equipment operator. After his tour, he was a diver at the Boston Naval Yard until 1970.

He was a member of the Antietam Fire Company, Hagerstown Fire Department Engine 2, joining in December 1963, until the early 1970’s.

He was also a member of the First Hose Company of Boonsboro during the 1990’s, serving as a driver/operator and as the maintenance officer.

He was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Boonsboro.

Rodney retired from the Department of Public Safety and Corrections Services, Maryland Correctional Enterprises as an Industrial Supervisor. He was well respected by his co-workers, and revered by the men he supervised.

Rodney met, and married the love of his life, Connie in 1972. They were inseparable for over 44 years.

Rodney is survived by his wife Connie; two sons, Tony and wife Susan, and Wallace and fiancé Jan, all of Hagerstown; 6 grandchildren, Morgan Heintzelman, Madison Cooper, Max Delosier, Rowan, Delosier, Finn Delosier, and Gia Delosier; 1 great grandson, Landon Brackett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael “Ike” Delosier.

A memorial service will be held in September to celebrate Rodney’s life.
