Rodelle Rinker

Mrs. Rodelle Elizabeth Hansberger Rinker, 91 of Mt. Airy, MD, died away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Victor Galen Rinker, her husband of 68 years.

Born August 16, 1919 in Jerome, VA in the Shenandoah Valley, she was the daughter of the late J. Frank and Hattie Funkhouser Hansberger.

Mrs. Rinker was a lifelong Lutheran, current member of Light of Christ Lutheran Church, New Market, MD. She was very proud of her volunteer work, especially having spent every Thursday working at the National Lutheran Home in Rockville for 20 years. She was a very loving and giving person who was always willing to open her heart and home to anyone who needed a hot meal and a place to stay. She was a very devoted wife, mother and sister and will also be missed by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children David Rinker and wife Ann Patrice, Everett Rinker and wife Janet and Roger Rinker and wife Ann, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, her siblings Frances Case, Buford Hansberger, Bobby Hansberger and Louise Hawkins. She was preceded in death by a brother Preston Hansberger and two sisters June Brown and Kathleen Lantz.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD, Tuesday, January 11, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, at 1:00 pm from the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 4109 Jerome Road, Jerome, VA.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.
