Mr. Robert William Kight, 67, of Walkersville died on Saturday November 10, 2007 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy D. Kight.
Born on October 27, 1940 in Lonaconing, MD he was the son of the late Thomas and Lola Harper Kight.
He worked for the Department of Energy for over 32 years as a computer specialist and retired in 1997. He was the AMVETS Executive Director for 14 years for the Department of Maryland and was AMVET of the year 2006-2007.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons Rusty Kight and his wife Laura of Frederick and Bryan Kight and his wife Michelle of Hagerstown. Grandsons Russell, Tyler and Ryan Kight. Granddaughters Melody, Bailey and Hannah Kight. One brother Gordon Kight and his wife Anna Lee of Frostburg. Two sisters Jean Beaman of Frostburg and Arlene Phiffer and her husband Herbie of Florida. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kight was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Kight.
Visitation: Visitation will be held on Thursday November 15, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Services: Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday November 16, at 11:00am. The Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
In Lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the Jeffrey W. Kight Scholarship Fund C/O Community Foundation of Frederick County, 206 West 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701 or the charity of ones choice.
