Mr. Robert V. Dudley, 83, of Walkersville died on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Barbara Hayden Dudley who did in 2002.
Born on October 31, 1924, in Buena Vista, VA he was the son of the late William W. and Sallie M. Dudley.
He was a route driver for Bergman Laundry, retiring after 32 years service. Robert served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of American Legion Posts in Cheverly and Greenbelt. Mr. Dudley was a part time employee of the Service Employees Union. He enjoyed horse racing, playing cards and attending family crabs feasts.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Patricia Bargas of Walkersville and Mary M. Wright and husband Anthony of Mechanicsville; 4 grandchildren: Lindsey Cowher, Tammy Wright, Dustin Jordan and Robert Dudley, Jr. and wife, Julie; 4 step-grandchildren: Vivian Bradshaw and husband, Chris, Gary Johnson, and wife, Jill, Neil Johnson, and Richard Johnson;, 11 great grandchildren: Colin, Tyler, Sydney, Cory, Claire, Devin, Katie, Chloe, Taylor, Carson, and Tyler; and a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Dudley of Blue Springs, Missouri. Mr. Dudley was preceded in death by a son, Robert Francis Dudley; 4 brothers: William Dudley, Charles Dudley, John Dudley and Fred Dudley and a sister, Annie Laurie.

Services:
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, November 28, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy a memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM with Rev. Tim May officiating.
A private inurnment will take place at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood.
