Robert {Robbie} Keith Snurr, Sr.

Mr. Robert Robbie Keith Snurr Sr., 57, of Thurmont, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born March 15, 1952, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Janet Eyler Snurr of Thurmont and the late Charles L. Snurr.

Mr. Snurr was employed at Giant Food as a frozen food clerk. He was a member of the American Legion Post 168, AMVETS Post 7 and the Blue Ridge Sportsman's Club. Robbie enjoyed spending time with his son and grandsons at the Monster Truck Jams. He also enjoyed cooking crab legs, camping, his turtle pond and spending time at the Legion. Robbie was proud he shared the same birthday as his mother and grandson.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Robert Snurr Jr. of Frederick; his grandsons, Brenden and Bronson Snurr; his brothers, Richard and Dwayne Snurr of Thurmont; and his sister, Tonya Long and husband, Gary, of Fairfield, Pa.; nieces and nephews, Shelley Young and husband, Blaine, Wayne Snurr and wife, Kristi, Kristin Herr and Joshua Long; great-nieces and great-nephews, Nicole and Nathan Young, Lexi and Madi Snurr and Jordan Herr.

He will also be remembered by Pam Papich, his many friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Paul Snurr.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont. Interment will be held in Blue Ridge Cemetery.

Services: Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Les Sims officiating.

Interment will be held in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
