Due to the inclement weather, Mr. Easterday's Memorial Service has been re-scheduled for Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Robert McQuay Easterday, 64, of Observatory Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at his home.

Born on February 26, 1945, in Sharpsburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late Clarence W. and Mabel P. (McQuay) Easterday.

Mr. Easterday was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War.

He was employed for 13 years as a Machinist with Pangborn Corporation.  He also had worked for 24 years as a Machinist and Line Worker for Volvo-Mack Truck, Inc. and was a member of the U.A.W.  Local # 171.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (DeMelio) Easterday; two sons, Gregory A. Easterday and his wife Julie of Clear Spring, Maryland and Randy P. Easterday of Illinois; one daughter, Stephanie A. and her husband Joseph Bartuch of Illinois; and his two grandchildren, Lakelyn M. and Cole M. Easterday, both of Clear Spring, Maryland.

Mr. Easterday was preceded in death by his two sisters, Rebecca J. and Twanna M. Easterday.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  Rev. James F. Hay, Jr. will officiate.  Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Maryland.  Military Honors will be rendered by the Amvets Post 10 and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends on Friday, December 18, 2009, at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland, 21742; the Hagerstown Union Rescue, Inc., 125 North Prospect Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, 21740; or to any charity of choice.
