Robert Luther Reed

Mr. Robert Luther Reed, Jr., 73, of Frederick died on Friday, September 14, 2007 at his residence. He was husband of Frances Clark Reed, his wife of 30 years.

Born on July 17, 1934, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Robert Luther Reed and Lillie Mae Summers Morgan. Robert was a product developer/supervisor for Buckheimer Leather Company in Frederick for 20 years. Prior to that he worked 10 years for Fennel Clothing Co. in Hagerstown and after retiring from Buckheimer's, he worked in animal care at Ft. Detrick for 9 years. Mr. Reed served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of AMVETS Post 2 in Frederick and American Legion Post 168 in Thurmont. He enjoyed going to flea markets and attending auctions where he searched for additions to his extensive collection of McCoy Pottery.

Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 children: Janet Jordan of Scottsville, VA, Carmen Teresa Stroll and Robert D. Reed and wife Lisa all of Charlottesville, VA; 3 step children: Dennis L. Clark and wife Pamela of Staunton, VA, Mark T. Clark and wife Debra of Colonial Heights, VA and Sharon Clark Ober and husband Dennis of Staunton, VA; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 6 brothers and sisters: Joyce Reed of Waynesboro, VA, Brenda Reed Tuttles of Covington, VA, Russell L. Morgan of Frederick, Ira Wayne Morgan of Walkersville, Mary L Riggs and husband Paul of Frederick and Sally Angleberger and husband Eddie of Union Bridge. Robert will also be remembered by his former wife Clara Reed of Charlottesville, VA.

Mr. Reed was preceded in death by a special cousin Jack Reed as well as his beloved grandparents who raised him, Martin Luther and Althea Isanogle Reed of Thurmont.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Sunday, September 16, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Services: Services will be held at the Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Monday September 17, with Rev. Tim May officiating.

Interment will take place in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont, Md.
