Robert "Bob" Woodward

Robert “Bob” Woodward, aged 80 of Mt Airy MD, died July 31, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Ann Woodward.

Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Lee, Lyn, and Noel (Brian), as well as his eight loving grandchildren, Cassidy (Julius), Mace, Chloe, Soo Young (Billy), Girolamo, Giovanina, Ellery, and Robert.

He started his career as a lineman at the telephone company scaling telephone poles, and saw it change from CMP, to Bell Telephone, to Bell Atlantic, to Verizon during his time there. He quickly became a well liked and respected supervisor, and worked there happily until retirement. He never slowed down though he had many hobbies, including years of volunteer service at his grandchildren’s schools, Sunday school, and at the Isaac Walton League. He kept a yearly vegetable garden and had a love of woodworking, both of which he passed down to his children and grandchildren through the years.

Bob was a family man who devoted his life to raising his children and grandchildren. He was a man of few words but always knew how to make you laugh. He will be forever loved and his memory cherished by all who knew him.

In light of the current COVID-19 concerns and outbreaks Bob's Celebration of Life services at Pine Grove Cemetery have been cancelled.

In lieu of flowers, his family would like to ask for donations to Habitat for Humanity, a cause that Bob supported regularly.
