Robert “Bob” Hamilton Williams died November 4, 2013 at Kline Hospice House. He was born June 12, 1936 in Winchester, KY, a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Williams. Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dorna. He is also survived by children from a prior marriage, Scott Williams, Craig (Catherine) Williams, Tracy (Ron) Barbeito . Six grandchildren (all with the last name of Williams) Bradley, Patrick, Alicia, Evan, Rien, Shea and great granddaughter, Rowan); step- daughter Robin Davitt, step-son Douglas Davitt and step- granddaughter Megan Davitt-Loysen. One brother, George (Ann) Williams, Columbia, SC. He was predeceased by one brother, William “Bill” Williams. Before retiring in 1994, Bob spent four years in the U.S. Air Force; nine years as a nuclear engineering technician for the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY; 17 years as an electronic technician for the U.S. Navy at Naval Ordnance Laboratory in White Oak, MD, followed by 11 years as a nuclear engineering technician for the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, MD receiving a Bronze Medal Award in 1989. Bob obtained a private pilot’s license while spending a number of years as a member of the Frederick Civil Air Patrol. He was an active volunteer with the Walkersville Southern Railroad. He enjoyed amateur radio being a member of the Frederick Amateur Radio Club and was also a member of the American Legion, Post 11. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Goldstein and Mary at the Frederick Cancer Therapy Center and for the wonderful care he received from Hospice of Frederick County. A private service and Inurnment will be held at a later date in Winchester, KY.
