Robert "Bob" A. Robbins, 72, of New Market, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Born on April 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Frank B. and Constance A. (Welch) Robbins.
Bob was proud to be an American and served his country in the United States Air Force, and subsequently with the Air Force Reserves, and retiring from the US government after many years of dedicated service.
Bob was very active in the New Market community and will fondly be remembered by his family and friends as the "computer guru." He will forever be remembered for the love of his family and friends as being a "larger than life" guy who never met a stranger.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Robbins; his step-son, Joseph Kidwell and his wife, Susan; his sister, Lucille Carroll and her husband, Robert; and his brother, F. William Robbins and his wife, Karen. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Final resting-place ceremonies will be held privately at Arlington National Cemetery, at a later date.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
