Robert "Bob" Meyer

Mr. Robert “Bob” Alan Meyer, 49, of New Midway, MD passed away suddenly on September 14, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident. Born October 8, 1963 in Frederick, Maryland, he is the son of Mrs. Verna I. Klipp Meyer and the late Roy W. Meyer. Bob graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in 1981.  He worked at Frederick Automotive where he met his wife, Deanna.  He also worked at Jenkins Motors, SAIC, and most recently Napa Auto Parts of Frederick.  Bob was an ASE certified parts specialist and was recognized for his outstanding performance in the GM Professional Parts Guild.  He was personally requested by many to help diagnose difficult automotive problems.  Bob also spent many years volunteering for the New Midway Fire Company. Bob was a people person.  He had a terrific sense of humor and could always make anyone he met laugh.  Bob was always willing to lend a hand to those who needed help with anything.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed watching his children grow into the kind and respectful people they are today and has always been very proud of both of them.  Bob also loved his country. Bob’s hobbies were gardening, working on cars, watching Ravens football, Orioles baseball, & Maryland Terrapins Basketball.  He loved bowling and previously played on a league when he was in high school.  Bob also enjoyed watching the History Channel, Sprint car racing, Duck Dynasty and all the classics such as “I Love Lucy!” and “Emergency!”  Bob enjoyed watching his daughter, Janelle, play volleyball and attending car shows with his son, Brandon, and his brother, Ronnie.  He also loved spending vacation time in Williamsburg, VA with his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 26 years, Deanna C. Moser Meyer; Daughter, Janelle L. Meyer and Son, Brandon M. Meyer, both of New Midway, MD; Brother, Ronnie Meyer and wife Donna of Frederick, MD; Mother-in-Law, Eva Moser of New Midway, MD; Sister-in-Laws, Linda Plumer and husband George of New Midway and Dottie Zimmerman and husband Marvin of Middletown, MD; Nieces and Nephews, Michelle L. Meyer, Kevin E. Plumer & Fiancé Betsy, Jason D. Plumer and wife Roxy, Mark A. Plumer and wife Sissy, Shanna M. Zimmerman and Fiancé Mike, and Kelly A. Zimmerman; Great-Nieces and Nephews; Krista Plumer & Fiancé Joey, Kyle Plumer, Xander Wetzel, Brooke Hearn, Natalie Plumer, baby girl Plumer; 1 Great-great nephew; Brayden Bowers; Best Friend, Chuck Gartner and wife Dawn and their daughter Brittany; Many other family and friends. He is also survived by his 4 legged friend, Mitzi.  In addition to his father, Bob is preceded in death by his Father-in-Law, John W. Moser. Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM on Friday, September 20, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, 1:00 PM, at the funeral home. Pastors Michelle Carlson and Tim May will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Cemetery, Daysville, MD.   Pallbearers will be:  Brandon Meyer, Chuck Gartner, Jeff Wisner, Jim McClure, Ronnie Cox, Ronnie Meyer, George Plumer & Marvin Zimmerman.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Robert A Meyer Memorial Fund through PNC Bank to help defray Janelle & Brandon’s educational expenses.  Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com
