Robert (Bob) Elly Glausier, Jr., 88, of Boonsboro, Maryland passed away on December 14, 2020.
Born on February 6, 1932 in Seffner, Florida, he was the son of the late Robert E. Glausier, Sr. and Emily Glausier.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Glausier and one son, R. Keith Glausier.
Bob joined the United States Marine Corp in 1949 and served honorably for 20 years. He served in combat in two wars including the Korean War and 2 tours in Vietnam, where he was a field commissioned officer to the rank of Captain. After retirement from the Marine Corp, Bob was employed by the state of Maryland working at the Victor Cullen Center and MCI.
He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro, MD where he served as President of the Church Council. He was also an active member of the Boonsboro American Legion Post 10, the Bull Dog Detachment of the Marine Corp and the Korean War Veterans. Bob was a member of the Washington County Republican Club and was a familiar face on Election Day when he worked as an Election Judge.
As a member of the Marine Corp League, he was instrumental in driving the Toys for Tots campaign throughout Washington County, Maryland ensuring needy children received Christmas presents each year. In addition, he honorably represented the Marine Corps in many civic events throughout Washington and Frederick County, Maryland, including parades and ceremonies in Boonsboro, Sharpsburg, Keedysville, Hagerstown, Middletown, and Frederick, Maryland.
He is survived by his one son, Charles A. Glausier and wife Janet; one sister in-law; Sara A. Sweeney and her husband, Robert of Boonsboro, Maryland; two sisters; Mary Sauls and Janice Carter; three grandchildren, Bradley and his wife Grace, Kelley, and Ashley Glausier; and several nieces and nephews.
Whether as Bob, Dad, Pop, Ace, or Capt. Glausier, he was deeply loved by all whose lives he touched. He will be remembered as a generous and loving family man, a fierce patriot, and a gentleman of great humility, kindness, loyalty, and integrity.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:30pm on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, in Boonsboro, MD.
A public funeral service will not be held at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
