Mrs. Roberta (Bertie) Mae Coulter, 82, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth M. Coulter.
Born July 20, 1931 in Big Chimney, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ward B. Booker and Louise Gruden Booker-Corun.
Bertie was co-owner of Donna's House of Hair in Brunswick for 36 years. She loved spending time and cooking for her family. She was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan. Bertie enjoyed country music, word search puzzles and reading books. She was known for her beautiful smile and friendly personality. Bertie was a longtime member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by five daughters, Sharon (Cookie) Miller and husband Buck, Cheryl Staubs (Robert Sterling), Nancy Coulter, Kim Sigler (Mark Ahalt), and Donna Coulter (Mike Jennings); three, grandchildren, Michelle Staubs (Blane Bidle), Lisa Miller (Bill Shuff), and Kenneth (Kenny) R. Staubs; great-grandchild, Taylor Miller; and great-great-grandchild, Mason Kokoski.
Bertie also is survived by sister, Barbra Leiby and husband, Donald; brothers, Danny Corun and wife, Kaye, and Donnie Corun and wife, Susan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Karen Mae Coulter; brother, James W. Booker; and step-father, Dorsey Corun.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 10 from Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Rd. in Brownsville, with Pastor Alan Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
