Robert T. Walsleben, of Mt. Airy MD (formerly of Hempstead, Massapequa and Hauppauge NY) died at age 78, after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Bob, who will be remembered as a robust, happy outdoorsman, was Chief Court Stenographer of the Suffolk County District Court for 20+ years. Prior to that he worked as a stenographer in Nassau County District Court and continued to cover Great Neck Police courts.
He was the first active 50 year dues paying member of the Rodfield Gun Club in Cochecton Center, NY. He was also an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.
Beloved father of son, Kenneth and wife Christina; daughter Linda; and son, Kraig and wife Carolynn; and loving grandfather of Connor and Kersten. He also leaves a brother, Edward and his wife, May,;sister-in-law Florence; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Joyce Walsleben.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Catherine; brother, William; sister, Marie, and her husband, Leo Tobin.
A memorial service in Seaford NY will be announced at a later date.
