Robert Carroll VanMeter

Robert Carroll Van Meter, 59, passed away on March 30, 2025, at his home in Keymar, MD surrounded by family.

Born on August 6, 1965, in Olney, MD, Rob was a cherished brother, father, grandfather, friend and beacon of generosity and kindness. He had a great sense of humor, loved to play the drums and hang out with family and friends. Rob drove big trucks for most of his life and loved telling good stories. His greatest love was his children and grandchildren, whom he dedicated his devotions to every day of his life. We are especially grateful that Rob found Jesus and dedicated himself to God. We are looking forward to seeing him again when Jesus returns again.

Rob is survived by his five children Robert VanMeter Jr, Heather (VanMeter) Dolly and husband Dustin, twins Amanda and Samantha VanMeter and Michael VanMeter and wife Sarah along with nine grandchildren whom he loved dearly and former wife and close friend Debra Stone, his sister Gail (Van Meter) Hedges and husband Dennis, brothers Donald Van Meter and wife Bonnie and Charles Van Meter and wife Sandy, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Van Meter Sr. and his mother Catherine (Dill) Van Meter. Rob will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Rob's life is currently being planned.
