Mr. Robert L. Stream, 84, of Thurmont, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at his home. He was the loving husband of Beatrice Woods Stream. They were married for 61 years.
Born September 18, 1930 in Dickerson, he was the son of the late Paul and Sarah Taylor Stream.
He retired from NIH in 1988 after 40 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ernest L. Stream and wife, Rebecca, of Farmville, VA; and Robert E. Stream and wife, Lisa, of Lynchburg, VA; three granddaughters, Allison Hertzler and husband, Freeman, of Pamplin, VA; and Emily Stream and Kelli Stream, both of Lynchburg, VA; a great-grandson, Nathan Hertzler; a brother, John D. Stream of Knoxville; and two sisters, Elizabeth Baugher of Woodsboro and Evelyn Burton of Whitesburg, TN.
A special thanks to Janet Lewis and Jim Royster, Hospice, and all of his many caregivers throughout his illness.
He loved hunting and fishing with his nephew, Gary Grimes, and his good friends the Ross family of Oakland, MD.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, where funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15. Officiating will be his son, Rob.
Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery, 13266 Taylorstown Road in Leesburg.
