Robert (Bobby) Elwood Stevens, 94, of Boonsboro, Maryland entered into God’s Kingdom on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024.
He was born on October 28th, 1930 in Hagerstown, Maryland to the late Earl C. Stevens and Thelma L. (Rohrer) Stevens.
Bobby graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1948. At the age of 22, Bobby married his best friend and the love of his life, Pauline C. (Babington) Stevens. They were married in 1952. Pauline and Bobby spent 70 years happily married, devoted to God and family, until her passing in February 2023.
Bobby was drafted by the United States Army in 1952 and honorably served his Country during the Korean War conflict. After high school, Bobby worked for Acme Markets Inc. for 40 years, until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement, he proudly took on the role of daycare provider - watching his granddaughters, Janine, Janelle and Julie after school and during the summers.
Bobby’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life. He was a member of Boonsboro Bible Church, where he served as a trustee, a deacon, and was a faithful attendant of the Men’s Sunday School class. Bobby enjoyed gardening and working in his flower beds.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was greeted at Heaven’s gate by his loving wife, Pauline C. Stevens; his brother, Dale Stevens; and sisters, Audrey (Stevens) Shepley and Betty (Stevens) Hines.
He is survived by his youngest sister, Rosalind “Peachie” Baker; his loving sons, Ricky (Sandy) Stevens of Boonsboro, and Randy (Diane) Stevens of Hagerstown; grandchildren: Janine (Douglas Jr.) Suffecool, Janelle (Jeremiah) Weddle, Julie (William) Campbell, Jason (Christie) Phillips, and Jeni (Jim) Jarrell; great-grandchildren: Elijah and Noah Weddle, Elizabeth, Lillian and Adelyn Campbell, Jordyn, Natalie and MaKayla Phillips, Morgan (Gabe) Updegraff and CJ Jarrell.
