Robert Richard Jackson

Robert Richard Jackson, 66 of Frederick, MD went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loved ones on June 23rd, 2024. 

Bobby was born in Bethesda, MD on August, 28th 1957 to Florence Jackson (Cross) and John Edward Jackson Sr. As a child Bob was a championship horseback rider and also loved riding mini bikes. 

Bob graduated from Winston Churchill High School. While attending high school he played baseball and found his love of working at at the fire department where he became a Volunteer Firefighter. He went on to become one of the first paid African American firefighter/first responder in Montgomery County until he retired. Following his retirement Bob went on to own and operate his own Jackson Carpet Cleaning & Flood Restoration. 

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Jackson (Cross), his father, John Edward Jackson Sr., and his brothers , Rudolph Jackson, John Edward Jackson Jr., and Clyde Jackson. He is survived by brother Thomas Jackson (Ivy), and sisters Maryann Jacobs, Rosemarie Jackson, his grandchildren who brought him great joy, Kailey Jackson, Joseph “Lil Joe” Jackson, Robert “Lil Bob” Jackson and Joshua Jackson, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends Denny Wynne and Nicole Andrew. 

To honor Bobby’s wishes there will be no funeral service. The family invites you to privately celebrate his memory in your own ways. Thank you for understanding.
