Mr. Robert “Bobby” John Reed, 55 of Middletown, Maryland, died September 24, 2014, after a tenacious battle with cancer. He was the husband of Bonny Lea Edmonds.
Born in Riverdale, Maryland, February 14, 1959, he was the son of the late Paul De Sales “Buddy” Reed and Mary Catherine Murphy.
Bobby was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #100 of Washington, D.C. for 30 years. Bobby enjoyed cheering on his beloved Redskins, the annual Reed fishing trip, watching John Wayne movies, doing logic puzzles, reading and simply spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is his step-daughter, Macy Alexandra Edmonds; two sisters, Dorothy Reed O’Neal and husband Robert A., Thurmont and Judith M. Reed, Sykesville; brother, Christopher M. Reed and wife Bonnie, Marriottsville; and numerous nieces and nephews: Mary Lou O’Neal Tevis and husband Gary, Robert C. O’Neal, Eric Reed and wife Leslie, Jillian Reed Hoffman and husband Sonnie, Kelly Reed, Anthony Reed, Clayton Pilkerton, Danielle Pilkerton, Kevin Conley, Alison Grossnickle, Michael Grossnickle, Dominic Reed, and Danica Reed. Bobby was predeceased in death by sister, Irene E. Reed; brother, Daniel J. Reed and niece, Brandy D. Grossnickle.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, between 2-4 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. and funeral services will be held beginning at 7 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
