Robert J. Myers 71, of Ijamsville, passed away on October 11, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Mary Mageline Myers.
Born on May 4, 1942 in Johnstown, PA. He was the son of the late Albert James and Margaret Washnak Myers.
Robert entered the U.S. Navy immediately after high school where he learned to program submarines. He then went to work for Kiplingers Publishing where he met many good friends and retired after a long career. He was an avid bird watcher and along with his wife, enjoyed feeding the humming birds that returned each year. Fishing at Baytree Lodge among friends and family was his crown of glory.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Mary Margaret Myers of Frederick and Heather Myers of Ijamsville. One grandchild Marlena Myers of Frederick. One sister Janet Williams and husband Russell of Georgia.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. Funeral services will begin in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00pm. Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
