Robert Moxley

Mr. Robert “Bob” Webster Moxley, 73, of Urbana, MD, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, while vacationing in Ocean City, MD. He was the husband of Shirley Rippeon Moxley, his wife of 21 years.

Born March 10, 1938 in Gaithersburg, MD, he was the son of Julia Hawkins Moxley of Frederick (formerly of Gaithersburg) and the late Herman Webster Moxley.

He was the owner of Montgomery Shell for over 25 years. Bob was an honorary member of the Damascus Fire Company and Past President and life member of the Urbana Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company. He enjoyed volunteering at fire companies and local churches helping with fundraising events and community projects. One of his passions was racing, where he spent time following the A. J. Foyt race team. He also collected race cars and antique fire trucks.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by daughters, Gina Orr and husband Tom of Poolesville, MD, Tania Watkins and husband Denny of Viera, FL, one son Anthony, “A.J.” Moxley of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, a step-daughter Karen Main and husband John of Urbana, MD, grandchildren Kate Wallace and husband Chris, Tim Orr, Ashleigh Watkins, Matthew Watkins, Tahler Moxley, one step-granddaughter Rachel Main and great-grandchildren Ian and Liv Wallace, brothers Jimmy Moxley and wife Judy, Russell Moxley and wife Linda and Charlie Moxley and wife Pam.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, September 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Monday, September 19, at 11:00 am with Rev. Sandi Phillips officiating.

Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
