Robert McCarthy

Mr. Robert Timothy McCarthy, 73, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away January 30, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of Nuala Cleary McCarthy.
Born January 3, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Timothy and Eleanor K. McCarthy.
Mr. McCarthy served in the U.S. Navy from 1959-64. He retired as a Fire Captain in 1985 from the Jersey City Fire Department and ended his career in 2006 as a project manager with the United States Fire Administration in Emmitsburg. He had a great love of literature and was a lifelong patron of the arts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters Shivawn and Deirdre and grandson Chappell, all of Colorado Springs, CO., and a sister Patricia Theil and husband Charles of Bridgewater, NJ.
Arrangement in New Jersey will be handled by the Mc Laughlin Funeral Home in Jersey City.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Dublin Roasters Coffee, 1780 North Market Street, Frederick
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, PO Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
