Robert N. Jones Jr. 69, of Mount Airy, passed away on January 7, 2013 at the George Washington University Hospital. He was the husband of Diane M. Jones for 31 years.
Born on May 1, 1943 in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Robert N. Sr. and Mary Olive MacCallum Jones.
Robert was an avid redskins fan, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his border collie Donovan, golfing, spending time on his computer and most of all time spent with his family. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Robert Byron Jones, Charles Keane Jones and wife Elizabeth and Timothy Colin Jones. Grandchildren; Lauren Kalee Jones, Robert Jameson Jones, Charles Laighton Jones, Robert Brayden Jones, David Landon Jones and Charles Carson Jones. One sister Mary Etta Rice and husband Richard. One brother David H. Jones. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Jane Waldecker Jones.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Friday January 11, 2013 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy, MD. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am on Saturday January 12, 2013 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 South Main Street, Mt. Airy. Interment will follow in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
