Robert Smith, Sr.

Robert James Smith, Sr., 88, of Saint Michaels, Maryland, and formerly of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, March 1, 2019 at The Pines in Easton, Maryland.
Born on June 10, 1930, in Keedysville, he was the son of the late Edward L. Smith and Ruth E. (Harbaugh) Smith-Hutzell.
He retired from Hamilton Nissan (known as Hamilton Pontiac) in Hagerstown. Bob was a former member of the VFW in Hagerstown.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Eppard and husband, Mark, of St. Michaels and Robin V. Kellick and husband, Greg of Williamsport; his son, Robert J. Smith, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of South Carolina; grandchildren, Blair Stone, Kyle Stone and James Davies; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Charles I. Smith and Richard D. Smith both of Hagerstown.
Bob was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Smith and Arthur M. Smith; and sister, Betty Swain.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate. Final resting place ceremony will be at Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
