Robert Hook

Mr. Robert "Bobby" William Hook of Jefferson died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Born March 25, 1934 in Glen Echo Heights, MD, he was the son of the late Irving Hook and Elizabeth Louise Hook. He was the father of Tina H. Newton, Trina H. Vogel, Regina Hook, Renita H. Abbott and Norina H. Davis; and beloved grandfather of seven. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Raised in Glen Echo and Cabin John, Maryland, Bobby attended the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and entered into service with the U.S. Navy. He then served as a paid firefighter for both, the Bethesda and then Glen Echo Fire Departments, before leaving to serve as a fire apparatus salesman, with a 35 year career at FESCO Emergency Sales in Elkridge, MD. He was a decorated veteran volunteer firefighter as well, having served 60 years with the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department, serving as its Chief from 1964 to 1966.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15th, at Noon in the Anastasi Room at the Bethesda - Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, located at 5020 Battery Lane in Bethesda, MD, with a reception immediately following at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 41, Cabin John, MD 20818.
