Mr. Robert G. Freburger, Sr. 77 of Hancock, Maryland passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the University of Maryland Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis Freburger, his wife of 57 years.
Born April 17, 1933 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of Teresa Freburger of Baltimore and the late Frederick Freburger.
Mr. Freburger served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a welder for Lever Brothers in Baltimore. After his retirement he began working s a driver for Enterprise in Hagerstown and Baltimore.
He attended Hancock Church of God and also did Prison Ministries with Mount Hope Ministries in Hagerstown, MD.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed bird watching and yard work. He also enjoyed doing day trips with his wife Phyllis.
In addition to his mother Teresa and his loving wife, Phyllis he is survived by his three children, Robert Freburger, Jr. and wife Brenda of Stewartstown, PA, Teresa Conrad and husband William of Riverside, Pa and Lisa Gerringer and husband Charles of Hagerstown, grandchildren, Jessica S., Aaron, Stephanie, Timothy, Jessica C., Carissa, Seth, Ryan, Christopher, Rachel, Nathan, Lydia, Anna, Jayden and Julian, great grandchildren, Elyssa and Conner, a sister, Joan Little and husband Paul of Baltimore and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Freburger and a brother, Gerald Freburger.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, September 22, from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 23 at 1:00PM.
Grave side will be in Garrison Forrest Veterans Cemetery on Monday, September 27, at 1:00 PM.
