Robert Ferguson

Mr. Robert W. “Bob” Ferguson, 77, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Sue Hoffman Ferguson, his wife and best friend for 52 years.
Born September 16, 1936 in Thurmont, MD, he was the son of the late Robert Burton and Leoda Stull Ferguson.
Mr. Ferguson served his Country in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Thurmont United Methodist Church. Bob was a chief computer technician at East Coast Relay at Fort Detrick for many years. He was a member of Thurmont United Methodist Church for 52 years, the Tuscarora Gun Club, and the American Trap Shooting Association. He was a state champion in trap shooting and ranked 11th in the Nation at one time.. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, taking trips to Lancaster and the Carolina Beach with dear friends. Bob loved watching his grandchildren at sporting events and loved children in general and they named him “Candy Man”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Stephen Ferguson and wife Julie of Walkersville and his pride and joy grandchildren Chloe and Noah Ferguson, his brothers Richard Ferguson and wife Shirley of FL and Harold Ferguson and wife Rebecca of Thurmont and a sister Sue Bryant and husband William of FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, Sunday, August 10, from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 11, at Thurmont United Methodist Church, Thurmont, MD
Interment will be private.
