Mr. Robert James Dempsey, Sr., 78, of Silver Spring, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018, at his residence.
He was the beloved husband of Maria Dempsey.
Born on June 11, 1939 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late William T. and Ann Marie Januskus Dempsey.
Surviving are three children: Robert J. Dempsey, Jr., Ann Marie Cusimano and husband Anthony, Chris T. Dempsey; grandchildren: Domonic, Vincent, Ryah, Brayden and Nicholas; great grandchildren: Eliana and Theodore; brothers and sisters: Billy Dempsey, Mickey Dempsey, Jack Dempsey, Mary Knighten, Susan Petrakis, the late Patricia Weiner.
Friends will be received at from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, March 4, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 5, at The Church of the Resurrection, 3315 Greencastle Road, Burtonsville, MD 20866.
Interment will be private.
