Robert Byers

Robert Malcolm Byers, 90, of Walkersville, Maryland, returned to his Lord on Friday, November 1, 2019.
Born on April 3, 1929, in Boonsboro, MD, he was the son of the late Ralph Steinman Byers and Mable Dorothy (Sigmund) Byers.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, member of Glade Valley Lions Club, Calvary United Methodist Church and the Woodsboro American Legion. He taught at Elm Street Middle School in Frederick, Thomas Johnson High School, Catoctin High School and loved to play golf.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert Adam Byers and his wife, Lucia Byers and Andrew M. Byers and his wife, Teri Byers; brother, Roy Byers of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by many cousins.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike Boonsboro, MD 21713.
A celebration of Robert's life journey will take place at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Steve Larsen will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Boonsboro Cemetery. A reception will be held at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home following the interment from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
