Robert Burgess
May 16, 1968 — August 13, 2016
Robert Scott Burgess, of Monrovia, MD, passed away on August 13, 2016 at the age of 48 years old. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend to many.
Scott’s passion for outdoor sports included snow skiing, mountain biking, golf, ultimate Frisbee and a loyal follower of the West Virginia Mountaineers. He spent most of his adult life in the Frederick, Maryland area after growing up in Charleston, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University and graduated from Shepherd University.
Scott was an enthusiastic and dedicated father to Kayla, age 10 and Kaden age, 7 and husband to his wife, Tracy. He was a sports enthusiast and passed his passion on to his kids constantly supporting their activities in Poms, Gymnastics, Baseball, Golf, Biking and many, many others. He was most happy when with his family on vacation, supporting their many endeavors and spending time with his many friends.
He worked in the mortgage industry for 20+ years and then pursued a career in IT Security.
He is survived by his wife Tracy, children; Kayla Burgess, Kaden Burgess; Mother, Wanda Burgess of Charleston, WV, Sisters Dara Ray of Charleston, WV; Beverly Sheehy, Markham, VA; Kathy Schauer, Big Sky, MT. Scott has many nephews and nieces, Ryan Herting, Meghan Schauer, Jonathan Schauer, Hillary McCoy, Michael Ray, and Emily Ray.
He is preceded in death by his sister Karen Peirce and his father, Robert G. Burgess.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, at 1621 Oppossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm on Friday August 19th.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Green Valley, at 11402 Ridge Lane, Monrovia, MD 21770 on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10am.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery immediately following services.
