Robert Francis Bullock, 87, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at his home. He was predeceased by his loving wife Nancy H. Bullock in 2014.
Born on May 3, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Chesterfield Robert Bullock and Elizabeth Frances (Beckman) Bullock.
He was a graduate of Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School. He proudly served as a Baltimore City firefighter from 1959 to 1992. He never officially retired and continued to pursue other business ventures in addition to working as a regional sales manager.
Robert served in the US Coast Guard, was a member of the Baltimore City Fire Officer & Firefighter Retirees Association and the Baltimore Firefighters International Association of Firefighters Local 734.
He enjoyed flying as a private pilot, going to air shows and being a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) as well as building models and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by daughter, Deborah (Bullock) Soyland of Mt. Airy; son, Robert Edward Bullock and wife, Elizabeth, of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Jacob Soyland, Caitlyn Rennie, and Allyson Rennie; brother, Donald Bullock and wife Peggy; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Claire Sladko.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD.
A celebration of Robert's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, July 28, 2023 from the funeral home chapel. Rev. Tim May will officiate.
Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Mount Airy.
