Robbie Smith

Robert L. "Robbie" Smith, 37, formerly of Norfolk, Virginia, died suddenly on Thursday, April 22, 2010.
Born on February 8, 1973 in Portsmouth, Virginia, he is the son of Deborah L. (Brown) and her husband James D. Shupe, Jr. of Boonsboro, Maryland and the late Lake C. Smith.
Robbie attended school and graduated in Norfolk, Virginia.
He was an avid artist.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by three brothers, Charles H. Smith of Frederick, Maryland, Steven T. Smith of Norfolk, Virginia and William E. Brooks, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Boonsboro, Maryland; one sister, Margaret R. Shupe of Boonsboro, Maryland; one nephew, William E. Brooks, III; and his step-grandfather James D. Shupe, Sr. of Boonsboro, Maryland. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and his special friend Tony Horton of Dillwyn, Virginia.
In addition to his father, Robbie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary M. Knight and Thomas H. Brown; and his paternal grandparents, Lake E. and Louise Smith.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. A prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
